I went on a first date tonight, so that was neat. I feel like shit is about to hit the fan at work, but it’s because several people are getting really tired with one girl at work and it’s all about to come to a head.

Just got my IPSC Action Air “Black Badge”. They don’t call it that but I’m now eligible to enter the weekly matches. I still got a crapload of practicing to do to get rid of my bad habits though... I’ve been holding a pistol wrong this whole time.

Doing ok. Work’s been pretty calm lately and I get a 4-day weekend next week because ‘Merica. I’ve managed to get to the gym a couple times and it hasn’t been kicking my butt as bad as I feared.

Got plane tickets in my inbox yesterday and a schedule for an interview in LA next week. Wasn’t really planning on interviewing anywhere since I’ve started my own business, but the company has too much potential to pass up. I rented an F-Type Coupe R for the 2 days in case the interview is a bust, at least I got some good driving in.

Today, I discovered that The Raconteurs have a new album (and it’s great). I really hope they release Thoughts and Prayers as a single but the music video for Sunday Driver is great. It’s great when you wait 11 years for a new album and poof - there you go.

Looks like I might be meeting up with a fellow Oppo on Friday - so that should be fun. I just need to finish the presentation that I need to give at the job interview.

Only dark spots on my week: My brother got booted from Lyft (a passenger reported him drunk but was probably just smelling the beer that a passenger snuck in then spilled in his car the other day). I was supposed to hike with a friend yesterday and today but she bailed.

Work has been crappy because I have a million question questionnaire that a customer wants filled out and I hate paperwork. It’s not even like we deal with their sensitive data, we just translate their marketing shit. I’m sure it checks off some box on a list somewhere.

I am not speaking from experience, but while I imagine there’s a touch of shame in receiving a speeding ticket, there’s also a sense that it’s...earned? As in, it’s almost impossible that someone will speed just once and happen to get caught, so paying once for a daily habit isn’t all that awful. My dumb ass got a street sweeping ticket because I came back from Canada earlier than planned and left the car on the street since I forgot what day of the week it was. That was just pure idiocy. RIP $50.

That was two weeks ago though. This week was 26 hours of driving to look at a field and a foundation and I have the rest of the week off so that’s cool. Went for a trail run today and didn’t feel like I was dying so that was also cool. I was hoping some work might come in for PA/NYish to get to Watkins Glen but that’s alright.
